About

One of the doyens of Turkish music journalism and publishing, Tolga Akyıldız has shaped a generation’s musical taste and cultural literacy since 1987 in established outlets including Hey, Blue Jean, Hürriyet, and Milliyet. More than a writer, he is a visionary project leader who has pioneered talent discovery through initiatives such as “Açık Sahne.” Deep marks across every layer of the music industry—from editing to publishing direction, brand consultancy to event creativity—make him one of the sector’s strongest reference points and its living “memory.”

Academic Background

A graduate of Galatasaray High School and Boğaziçi University’s Psychology department, Akyıldız has skillfully blended intellectual depth with the dynamics of popular culture. Combining his competence in human psychology with mass communication and publishing management strategies, he led some of Türkiye’s most widely read youth and lifestyle magazines. Transforming his sector knowledge into professional methodology through corporate consultancy and general coordination roles, Akyıldız represents a school of academic rigor in content production and community management.

Teaching Vision

For Tolga Akyıldız, music and writing were not merely professions but an intimate “Sokak Çocuğu” bond with the heart of life. His approach carried a solidarity spirit, distant from hierarchy, always supporting production and the new. The inclusive language he built in his projects and writing continues to inspire the foundational philosophy of education platforms such as ARTENPRENEUR: “multiplying knowledge through sharing” and “opening space for independent producers.”
